Jerry receives a telegram from his Uncle Pecos, saying he's stopping by for a visit before making his television debut on a famous variety show where he plans on playing his guitar. However, while there, Uncle Pecos soon wreaks havoc on Tom when his guitar strings break and starts chasing the cat around the house in order to pluck one of his whiskers to replace his broken strings.
